Ask for a “fun” apron in certain retail outlets and you’ll probably be confronted with something designed to make the man of the house appear to be wearing a corset and suspenders. Oh, the hilarity. But fun doesn’t have to mean vulgar and tired, as this delightfully cheerful sheep-themed apron design proves.
At Heart to Home, we think “fun” means indulging the child within, not paying good money for cheap tat appealing to a hackneyed sense of humour that belies the word “novelty”. We say let’s reclaim “novelty” to describe something truly original, like the cute little sheep on this apron. You should not have to betray your sense of decorum to have fun; you should simply be prepared to accept that it’s okay to be silly. In fact its downright good for you. And if you can’t be silly at work or at a fancy dinner party, then put on an apron and – when no one is looking – be silly in the kitchen.
